Lama Shenphen Rinpoche on Dorje Shugden controversy - part 2 |
|
Friday, 30 January 2009 19:51 |
The Dorje Shugden controversy in Slovene newspaper Dnevnik didn't end with Lama Shenphen Rinpoche's response (more about the beginning of the controversy in part one). Author of the original article journalist Ales Kocjan answered to Rinpoche, who later also sent another letter, yet the responsible editor of Dnevnik at that time Miran Lesjak refused to publish it, therefore giving the journalist an unfair advantage of having "two says". Both texts can be found below, Lama Shenphen Rinpoche answer is published here publicly for the first time. |

Lama Shenphen Rinpoche on Dorje Shugden controversy - part 1 |

A Journalist of Slovene newspaper Dnevnik Ales Kocjan wrote an article on Dorje Shugden controversy. This is a complicated issue that appeared in the Tibetan society. Dorje Shugden is a deity worshipped by some Tibetans. The XIVth Dalai Lama e.g. advised against such worship. Surprisingly, the journalist found the topic interesting enough for the Slovene society, which knows little or nothing about Buddhism in general. He also used the opportunity to smear the XIVth Dalai Lama. Lama Shenphen Rinpoche (otherwise the Abbot of the Buddhist Congregation Dharmaling) responded. Below we publish first the resume of the article and then the answer from Lama Shenphen Rinpoche. |
